  • Launch Sage 50 and also the file you wish to convert. 
  • Go to the Main Menu 
  • Select Maintain
  • Select Users
  • Select Setup Security
  • Click Select Data access/Crystal Reports tab
  • Next, select the ‘With the following login information’ option. Bear in mind that you cannot change the ID field.
  • Now select Change 
  • Next, set the Password for the transfer to take place
  • The password should be 8 characters long and the conversion will cease if the limit exceeds. 
  • Set the Password 
  • Click OK 
  • Close Sage 50

Step 3: The Conversion Tool Download

  • Start by downloading the QuickBooks conversion tool
  • Open the folder you have saved the Download files
  • Now right-click on the QuickBook Conversion tool icon 
  • Click Select on Properties
  • Click on the Compatibility mode 
  • Click check the box for ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for 
  • Select Windows 8; even if you have a different version of Windows from the drop-down list. 
  • Select OK 
  • Right-click on QuickBooksConverstionToolSetup.exe
  • Click select on Run as Administrator

Step 4: Data Conversion

  • Go to the conversion tool
  • Select Browse 
  • Find the Sage 50 company file you wish to convert
  • Click Select 
  • Select the Sage 50 Company file from the Database Name in the Pervasive 32-bit ODBC engine DSN Setup window. 
  • In case you have multiple files you might want to scroll to find the Company Name 
  • Now select OK 
  • Now, enter the Sage 50 password that has been created for you 
  • Select Next
  • Select the QuickBooks Desktop version and also the edition that you are moving your Sage data into
  • Be sure to not add any special characters
  • Select Browse and select the folder to Save the converted data into 
  • Click select NEXT 
  • In case you do not pick a folder, then My Document is the default folder for this purpose. 
  • Keep in mind that you need to import to a file that is not more than 2 folders deep.
